April 2025 Image of the Month

Congratulations to Larry Pollock for his winning image: Eagle and Stick

Larry Writes About His Image:

This image was taken last month near Klamath Falls. Susan and I visit the wildlife refuges each spring for the migration and nesting. We found a pair of Bald Eagles starting a nest in an old cottonwood tree and actively building. While it is our goal to capture fun and interesting images, our trips are also about the experience of being outdoors and seeing the fantastic wildlife we have in the Northwest. Sometimes, you must get out from behind the camera and take it all in.
Fuji X-T5 with a 225-900 mm lens. Settings: ISO 1600, 1/2500 sec, f/9, 900mm.
The camera club helps keep me on my toes with new and interesting image assignments.

March 2025 Image of the Month

March 2025 Image of the Month

Congratulations to Susan Sheets for her winning image: Golden Creek

Susan Writes About Her Image:

It was brilliantly colorful along Taylor Creek this past fall. My partner and I visited several times to capture the colors and enjoy the quiet.  This image required a short scramble down the bank and water boots so we could setup our tripods in the creek and compose our shots.  I enjoy shooting with my OM Systems OM1 camera. This is shot at 50mm, ISO 200, f8, 1/4sec.  Another memorable fall excursion this year was a field trip along the Applegate River with the Wild Rivers Camera club.
