Janet comments: “I took this photograph with my Nikon Lumix ‘point-and-shoot’. It was taken on my kitchen counter with natural light from the south facing window in early September. The odd egg is a Pysanky egg that I made years ago. These eggs are an old folk craft from the Ukraine, created to celebrate spring. I did some special effects on the photo with Photoshop”.

Dale’s comments: Pencils….Canon T2I with EF50 F/2.5 macro lens. 1/60th sec at f/2.8, ISO 400. After purchasing some 220 pencils for my original idea…which failed horribly…I settled for this much simpler idea. Not much editing required but I did pull the orange color from the image as it was over-powering and distracted the eye.

Jim’s Comments: It is a still life taken against a black cloth backdrop with one softbox light and a white reflector. Seashells and stone were collected from the Oregon coast. It was originally taken as a medium format film image with a Pentax 6×7 camera. It was scanned into a digital image using club member Michael Williams virtual drum scanner during an open house he held for club members during the 2013-2014 season.

Marcia’s Comments: This photo was taken on a light box, lit by two lights underneath. It was taken with the Canon 7D using the 24-105 mm L lens. ISO 100, 47mm @ 1/6th sec f8 were the settings. I was inspired by images I saw in on the internet which were taken on a light box and wanted to experiment. This beautiful lily was the perfect flower to try this method.
