Modoc Night    Ross Steensland

Modoc Midnight was taken in the Modoc National Forest on the first of September.  I have been dove hunting there my entire life, so I was hoping to capture a photo that visualizes the essence of that region.
I scouted during the daylight until I located the ideal snag, then used my photopills app to identify the Milky Way’s location that night. During the night I light painted the foreground during a 104 second exposure, then shot 29 sky images to stack in Sequator for noise reduction.  Both images blended in Photoshop CC.

The Pollinator    Rose Christner

This was shot at the Butterfly exhibit in Cave Junction, OR on one of our club field trips this year. It was my first time ever to shoot butterflies, so it was a challenge for me with them constantly moving. Shot with my Canon 80D at 1/1600sec, F5.6, ISO1000, 100mm F2.8 Macro lens with extender. This was handheld and certainly not easy for me to do. I highly recommend going on club field trips with one or more as you will learn something new each time or you can share what you know to help others.
