“Curious Spider” by Jeremy Vanschoonhoven
“This Image was taken in October near Wilderville Oregon while on a hike looking for bugs! This spider was floating through the air and landed on this blackberry bush, and was so cute he kept hiding from me then peaking around the leaves to look at me! I think he could see his reflection in the lens. I was using my Sony a99ii with the Sony 100mm macro lens. My shutter speed was 1/125th ISO 2000 F9. I used an off camera flash hand held. I was also shooting hand held with the camera so it was quite a tricky shot to get the spider in focus get the flash in the right spot and take the shot.”

“The Warrior Beetle” by Rose Christner
This was a total of 23 stacked macro photos compiled into one in Photoshop. Jeremy V. taught me how to do it with this model beetle. Dale G. loaned me his 100mm and I was really enjoying trying to capture everything. I used the Canon 80D and shot this at 1/80sec, F7.1, 100mm, ISO 1600 and on a tripod with extra lighting. The world of macro fascinates me and has given me a greater respect for our smaller creatures of this planet and I look forward to learning more.

“This image was shot late in October on my visit to the Taylor Creek area to capture fall colors. It is of a bridge along the Taylor Creek Trail that parallels Forest Service Road #25 near Galice, Oregon. Photo was shot with a Canon 6D, with a 24-70mm f4 lens at 24mm. Exposure is 1/80 sec, f8 at ISO 320.”

Breaking Fog was a quick shot from the downriver side of Hellgate Bridge on a second field trip up Taylor Creek. A Soft and Muted Glow effect added a nice feel to the image. ISO 250, 1/400, f/7 with handheld Nikon D750 and zoom set at 38mm.

“Tilikum Bridge” by Jim Heern
Tilikum Crossing, Bridge of the People is a cable-stayed bridge across the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon, United States. It was designed by TriMet, the Portland metropolitan area‘s regional transit authority. The bridge also serves city buses and the Portland Streetcar, as well as bicycles, pedestrians, and emergency vehicles. Private cars and trucks are not permitted on the bridge. It is the first major bridge in the U.S. that was designed to allow access to transit vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians but not cars.
Construction began in 2011, and the bridge was officially opened on September 12, 2015. In homage to Native American civilizations, the bridge was named after the local Chinook word for people. The Tilikum Crossing was the first new bridge to be opened across the Willamette River in the Portland metropolitan area since 1973.

This photo was taken while passing under the Golden Gate bridge on a cruse ship for the club’s monthly assigned category. This month it was for bridges. I used my Nikon camera and captured a RAW image which I refined in Photoshop. The camera was handheld with a 24 – 70mm lens set at 70mm, ISO 400, F/14, at 125 sec.
