“Sitting Docked in the Bay” Linda Bryant
Linda’s Comments: “I took this photo at the Crescent City harbor because I loved the way the boats were lined up with the dock. I just thought what a beautiful photo it would make. I used a Canon 60d camera. Settings were f/8 at 1/100 sec, ISO 100, using a Tamron 18-280mm lens at 42mm. It was shot in manual mode and auto white balance. It was edited using Photoshop and NIK Color Efex Pro 4. The sky was changed because it was a dark and dreary day.“
Linda joined the Caveman Camera Club in 2012 because she wanted to expand her skills in photography. Linda says, “I try to do my best, whether it is shooting girls on horses or boats in the harbor. Most everything that I know is self taught, or with the help of all my wonderful friends at Caveman Camera Club.”

“While Summer Flowers Sleep” Russ Williamson
Russ’ Comments: The image is a light painting that I did on a field trip with the photo club in October, 2013 to a home in Grants Pass, Oregon. The image is a composite of about 12 images that were combined in Photoshop. The images were taken with my Nikon D5000 at ISO 200, F11, for 15 seconds each while I illuminated the flowers and scene with a flashlight in different areas.

“Zipper Pencils” Dale George
Dale’s Comments: “Zipper Pencils” was an inspiration that came to me in the grey foggy days of last winter. After so much grey weather I really needed to photograph something colorful and happy. Being budget conscience, the cheapest and most colorful thing I could think of was a big box of pencils…so off to Walmart I went.
As with most things, this photo was trial and error till I happened onto the zipper look. Shot with a Canon T2I and box lens. Exposure 1/3 sec. ISO 100 F/10, No flash, just lit from dining room window.”

“The Eyes Have It” Linda Bryant
Linda’s Comments: “This photo was taken at the Jackson County Fairgrounds during the High Equestrian meets back in April, 2013. This pic of Courtney and her horse Jazz was taken with my Canon 60D camera, using a Tamron 18-280mm lens. SS 1/100, F/8, ISO 100, Manual Focus and Auto WB.
I didn’t do too much to this pic, I really concentrated on the eyes, hence the name “The Eyes Have It”.
I then turned the pic to B/W, duplicated the layer and using a large white brush, brushed out the area’s I did not want to show until I got the effect I wanted.”
