“Spalding Pond Reflections” Nomeca Hartwell
Nomeca’s Comments: This reflecting image caught my eye last April during a Camera Club Field Trip outing to Spalding Pond, a former mill site in the Rogue-Siskiyou forest. To make the image really shine, I had to remove several intrusive small branches in Photoshop CS6 and adjust the tonal values with some Luminosity masks. The Oil filter in Photoshop added a lot of richness and movement and turned an ordinary image taken in flat morning light into something special. Capture data: ISO 100, 126mm lens focal length on my Canon T2i, f/8 and 1/60 second.
I have belonged to our local camera club almost forever (1989, 25 years Mon Dieu!). I have had a camera in my hands Forever (except when playing Pickleball 🙂 .

“Smoke Stack” Jim Ingraham
Jim’s Comments: “Smokestack” was taken in Grants Pass, just off M St on SE Ashley Place. I think it may be called the ‘Timber Products Company’. Taken with a Nikon D700 and 28-70mm lens at 70mm. Exposure was 1/125 at f16 and ISO 200.

Lori’s Comments: “Since the assigned subject was “reflection” I tried and tried to find the best reflective surface I could. Unfortunately all the mirrors that I had available where absolutely useless. They created a fuzzy double image in the reflection which I found to be quite unappealing so I thought I would experiment with water instead. As long as I had my angle of view correct the water did a fantastic job. Just a cookie sheet and about 1/2 inch of water, voila.” Canon 5d Mark iii and an EF 24-105mm f/4 L. ISO 50, 105mm, f/11 at 1 second.

Joel’s Comments: ” ‘That’s A Lotta Bull’ was taken at the Josephine Co. Fair back in Mid-August, 2013.
Bull riding was part of that week’s evening events at the fair. Picture was taken with a Nikon D4 camera. Lens was a Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom. Shot at ISO 2200, 1/1250th shutter speed, f/stop 3.2. @ 11 frames per second. I had clearance to get up next to the bull pen and shot through the piped rails.
When rider and bull came out the stall….I fired away and this was one of the more interesting captures.
