“Rope on Barge” Jim Ingraham
Jim’s Comments, “Exposure data: Taken with a Nikon D700 and 28-70 lens at 70mm. F16 at 3 seconds and ISO 1600. It was early morning and overcast and I was using a polarizer, hence the long exposure. The image is sharp even though the shot was taken on a barge that was swaying slightly on the water. That is because the tripod and camera were moving in sync with the barge. Taken in the harbor at Crescent City, California.”

“Descending Into Misery” Dale George
Dale’s Comments: The title “Descending Into Misery” refers to the tragic history of the Commando family home where this 3 shot HDR was photographed. Built in 1911 by the wealthy banker Moise Commando to house his 18th & 19th century collection of French antiques. His only son enlisted and was killed during in WWI. Later, his only daughter and her family were deported to Germany and all perished in the Auschwitz death camp.
Upon his death in 1936, he left his home and entire estate to the city of Paris which now operates it as a museum for decorative arts. Truth be told, this was one of my favorite sites we visited on this trip. Each room was a treasure trove of the finest furniture and tableware you could imagine. Uncrowded and in a quiet neighborhood…it was well worth seeking out!!
Some shot info….3 shot exposure at 1/4, 1/6/, 1/8 ISO 400, no flash F/stop 7.1 and lens open to 10mm
