Lisa writes about her image: My image, Cottagecore Girl, was taken at the historical Hanley Farm in Medford, at a portrait slam event in September of 2021. Cottagecore is an aesthetic inspired by a romanticized interpretation of western agricultural life. I regularly attend portrait slam events because I have a passion for editorial portraits and fashion photography. I shoot with a Canon EOS 90D and this image was taken with an 85mm lens at f/5.6, 1/640, ISO 640.
Congratulations! on a beautiful image Lisa. Look for Lisa’s image soon in the Daily Courier.
This image was taken with a Nikon D850. The exposure data was f8 at 1/125th second at ISO 1600 and the lens was at 70 mm. Taken on a wet and cloudy spring day in an alley in downtown Grants Pass. Although the light can seem flat on a cloudy day, certain subjects (like rain and shiny surfaces) reflect the white sky in a beautiful way.
Congratulations Jim on a beautiful image. Look for Jim’s photo in the Daily Courier soon.
I took this photo a couple of years ago in my Sunroom while experimenting with the portrait mode on my iPhone 12 Pro. It was my first phone that allowed me to take photos in RAW, and has been pretty handy when I don’t have the time to take my DSLR with me on my day job at AT&T.
This photo was taken in portrait mode that resulted in an HEIF file, which has a smaller file size and a higher image quality than the standard JPEG. Photo shows 52 mm f2, ISO 250, 1/64 second.
Congratulations Ross on an excellent image. Look for Ross’ image in the Daily courier soon!
Ozzie writes about his image: Shot on S. end of Chrome Ridge. Nikon D750, 42mm, f11, 1/100 sec., 100 ISO. Shot on 12/6/22 at about 11:00 am in both heavy fog and snowing. Hard to see the road driving at 2 mph. Had to back up and start over several times
Congratulations! Ozzie on a beautiful image. Look for Ozzie’s image in the Daily Courier soon.
Dragonfly and Corn was created in my small photo studio using two light, and a black glass table with a black backdrop. I found the dragonfly a few months ago dead on our patio. Fully intact, I had been saving it for some photography. Having some dried corn from our holiday decorations seemed the perfect match as the dragonfly had the same colors. I used the corn as a leading line to bring the eye to the dragonfly. The intentional blur on the corn helps do the same thing. Editing was done in Capture One and Photoshop, removing lots of small dust specs on the glass and refining the image.
