Rose’s comments on her image ; My model and I were actually setting up for a night shoot, but the sun was setting and coming in just right on her face and I snapped this quickly. This is one of those ‘being in the moment’ shots! 🙂 F5.6, 1/30, ISO 1600 EOS R Canon, 18-135 lens.

I’m Over Here My Love Rose Christner
Rose’s comments on her image; This was a planned shot, just about didn’t get there fast enough for the blue hour. We had lighting issues that my team and I worked out. Keeping a model warm is my first priority, so I have to work fast in the cold weather as well as considering her safety. EOS R 19-135 lens F5.6, 20, ISO100 on Bulb 20sec.

Guarding the Stash Rose Christner
This is a composite of the Northern Flicker and the tree. Normally you would see an Acorn Woodpecker on the tree as they stash the acorns in the trees. The Flicker eats acorns, but does not put them in trees. I should have named this “Stealing The Stash”. 🙂

My Scrambled Brain Rose Christner
This is light painting with different tools you can make or buy. I used my large (10 lb) lens ball on a mirror. Then I used 48.2 sec to shoot all the different colors around the ball. Canon EOS R on a tripod at F16, 48.2 sec with a clicker, ISO 100, 18 mm.
This is really fun and a good exercise to get the feel of what light painting can do. Have fun with it!

The Proposal Cynthia Briseno
Entitled “The Proposal”. Taken near Brookings, I had asked the couple if I could take their picture and they said “yes.” He had just proposed to her so I did some shots and sent them to them. It was a wonderful day and I took advantage of capturing “their moment.”
Camera was Canon5d mark IV, 70mm lens, ISO 200, F22, 1/40 sec.

Minimalism Larry Pollock
“I was looking for the essence of a simple still-life image. Minimalism is one of my favorite things to create. Using 5 studio lights, various light modifiers and some bounce cards, I was able to achieve the look I wanted. I shoot my camera tethered to my laptop so I can see each image in detail as I adjust the lighting to suit. Plenty of test shots to hone in the final image. This image was a 2 image Focus Stack as the top flower was much further away from the camera sensor than the lower part of the vase.”

Kelp Jim Ingraham
This image, titled “Kelp” was taken from Citizens Dock Rd. in the harbor at Crescent City, Ca. It was a bright and sunny day and the winds were calm. The kelp was sitting near the surface and I could see the seafloor as well as clouds reflecting in the water. The color of the water was a beautiful blue green. I thought it would make for a compelling image.
Taken with a Nikon D810 and Tokina 24-70 mm lens at 40mm. ISO 125, Shutter speed of 1/125 and aperture of F8
