This Image was made this September on a beautiful night near Mt. Shasta while waiting for the Milky Way to grace the sky above the mountain.  This was the last train just as the sun was beginning to set and the stars came out. It was shot handheld with an Olympus EM1 MarkII, f4.0, 1/60 sec., at 80mm.

Look for Susan’s image sometime soon in the Daily Courier!

Gear UP! Wed. Sept. 9/18

Hi all,
For the camera club education meeting this Wednesday at 7 pm we will be learning from each other. The main emphasis will be on camera gear, processing gear (computers, monitors) and software.
This can run the gamut from someone sharing their smartphone experience and how they secretly prefer to shoot with that over their fancy DSLR to someone with the latest most expensive toys.
Items to consider bringing: Smart phones, cameras, lenses, macro possibilities, tele-extenders, tripods, monopods, tripod heads, tripod mounting plates, gear bags, backpacks, filters, drones, flashes, lighting, light modifiers, remote triggers, lightning triggers, sound triggers, under water gear, print matting and mounting tools, etc…
Basically, whatever you use! This is a great opportunity for us to share and learn from each other.
Time permitting, I would like to have us all share what software we use…or don’t. What computer we use…or don’t.
Also, and finally, I would love for us to share some photographic inspiration that we have found on the internet. Could be learning sites, or photo sharing sites or gear review sites, etc…
I am certain we won’t get to everything. Please prioritize and share one or two things initially. Time permitting, you can share more after everyone that wants to has had a chance.
Please come and share. I have a lot to learn!
See you all Wednesday,
Jim Ingraham  Education Coordinator

Getting Ready 2019-2020 – Sept. 4th Competition Meeting

Getting Ready 2019-2020 – Sept. 4th Competition Meeting

Our first meeting of the year and competition isn’t too far off!  There is plenty happening  behind the scenes as we get ready for the Club year.  Judge training, fine tuning our electronic equipment, shuffling duties as we get ready for 2019-2020.  There is a lot of information about judging and competitions under the Competition Tab here on the website. You can find our Monthly Assignments, Judging Video, Competition Rules and Guidelines and a printable PDF about preparing entries. Rules For Preparation of Entries for Caveman Camera ClubPreparing.  This year our digital entries will be sent to Dave Church so don’t plug up Russ’s email box by mistake!  Hope you all are out there shooting – I know I’m looking forward to the sharing.  See you soon!
