LET’S TALK BLACK AND WHITE ! Bring a black and white print or two to our Wed. Education meeting. We’ll walk through them together as a group, critiquing, and hopefully learning some things about what works, what doesn’t, papers for printing and some resources too. See you there!

Two First Place

“Ballet Dancer” – Jim Ingraham

Jim says of his image: ‘Ballet Dancer’ was a studio shot. One flash in soft-box high and to the left, looking almost straight down on the subject. One flash with a spot grid lighting the backdrop. One flash with umbrella camera right for just a little fill on the shadow side. ISO 64, f5.6 with a 35 mm lens on a full-frame camera.

“Karate Coot” – Jim Ingraham

Jim says of his image: ‘Karate Coot’ was taken at Reinhart Volunteer Park (All Sports Park). Taken with a zoom lens on a full-frame camera set at 500mm and an aperture of f9. ISO was 1600 and the shutter speed was 1/3200th of a second handheld. Coots are beautiful in an ugly sort of way.

“Oregon Duck” – Jim Ingraham

Two Third Places

“Don’t Startle Me Like That” – Rose Christner

Burning Through Hell

Dave Bell

This image was taken at a winery, I had originally taken it a few years back. After the wildfires the truck was burned. I am new to the new category of AR, Altered Reality. I processed this by adding the Reds, the background of Lava Flowing with the firework sideways presenting movement. I named the image “Burning Through Hell”. I started with the Caveman Camera Club a few years back, it is a great place to learn. I used my Canon R-5 Mirrorless, I shot at an ISO of 100, Focal length of 28mm, speed at 1/125 of a second, used my Canon R 24-105 lens.

Congratulations! Dave on your winning image. Look for Dave’s image soon in the Daily Courier.
